Twenty Cent Guitar Co ST-Special Volcanic Green 2025
Twenty Cent Guitar Co ST-Special, made in Australia 2025, resin burl. 20c is the project of local Hobart guitar maker Tim Caldwell, combining some native Australian tonewood with twists on some classic shapes. This one is pretty cool: that top is wild. The body is somewhere between a Strat, Mustang and a Les Paul Special type shape. It's topped with a gorgeous piece of Tassie stringy bark burl that's been filled with a sea-green resin, which looks awesome. There's a few nice details to round things up too: inlaid pickup rings, pearl pickup covers, fancy brushed hardware and blue locking tuners. The pickups sound good: fat and punchy with a walloping attack and a nice open high end shimmer. The neck is a little slimmer than some of the other TC examples we've had, but is still best described as a moderate size and a D-style shape. This is an unusual and interesting guitar, surely it will serve someone nicely.
