Vester Custom Shop HH Electric Blue 1991

Vester Custom, electric blue, made in Korea 1991. Here's a unique piece of 90s fun! The Vester brand was a project of Samuel Music Co, based in Illinois USA, made in Korea between  1987-95. They've got a good reputation for quality, attracting a fond following as 'sleeper' instruments that play and sound well beyond their modest used prices. This one is even more unusual than most Vesters: it's badged as a Custom Shop model, doesn't seem to appear in any catalogs, and the original owner won it in a guitar magazine giveaway. Yep: it was the 90s folks. The body looks a bit like a Warwick Thumb Bass, with it's curved back, mixed with a superstrat style, it's pretty quirky. The neck has twenty four tall frets, a modern radius and is carved to play quickly, and works nicely. The little rose inlay is a nice touch too, very fetch. The pickups are slightly overwound passive humbuckers, delivering a smooth and balanced tone not far from a high end RG. All up: it's certainly a strange one, but it's nicely made and has it's charms.
