Menatone do some of the most convincing amp-like overdrive pedals in existence. The King. is the updated take on the earlier King of the Britains overdrive, so it's voiced to cover Marshall Plexi/JTM45 style overdrive. The dual gain controls, gain and drive, are very interactive and allow for a bunch of different options. Set the drive low and the gain above midday for a Jimi-style almost-clean tone, or add a good dash of drive for a more 90s style JCM800 tone. The three band EQ is powerful and means you can get this talking nicely with just about any guitar+amp combo, plus it stacks beautifully with other drives. There's an internal vintage/modern switch and a 60s-70s pot too for even more control. I personally own both a vintage JCM800 amp, so I can absolutely vouch for the accuracy of the tone on feel of this one. There's not many overdrives out there as good as this one, folks.
