Boss OD-1X overdrive, recent model. This is an update on the classic SD-1 and OD-1 pedals. Instead of a traditional analog circuit, this uses Boss' fancy digital modelling technology to deliver a more responsive tone and feel with a wider gain range. It works nicely as a touch-sensitive low gain overdrive into a clean amp, offering a tasty crunch. It also works well in front of an overdriven amp, pushing the sound to a rich singing distortion reminiscent of big 80s lead-master like Yngwie Malmsteen. Plus, it's extremely low on noise/hum and is  built like a tank.
