Dean Markley Overlord Classic Tube Overdrive
String makers Dean Markley briefly entered the pedal market, and they offered up this: a gnarly overdrive pedal, driven by a real 12AX7 tube and powered by a mains cable. It's definitely a product of it's era in terms of styling: nasty fonts, black and red etc., but the thing sounds fantastic. It's pretty transparent, with a bit of extra warm glow through the midrange, and delivers heaps of gain range and headroom. The EQ is powerful too, you can get it kicking just right.
