TAMA S.L.P. LMP1465F Studio Maple 14x6.5 Snare Drum w/ Maple Hoops Sienna
One Studio Maple from TAMA's Sound Lab Project series in all its class. These drums are one of TAMA's high end snare offerings post-2013, now discontinued. They feature 16 Starclassic lugs, a dual-tension strainer system, 22mm maple hoops and a 5mm 6ply maple shell with sound reinforcement rings that cause more shell activation. The the shell and hoops combo make for a warm body and chalky attack. Tuned low, you get beef and resonance and up into higher tunings you get a dry attack with a buttery thickness in the mids. Currently adorned with a Coated Emperor, it sits happier in a higher tuning, but grace it with a Coated Ambassador/G2 with some gentle dampening or Genera HD Dry and you'll find immense versatility.
Heck, that's a lot of maple.
