(SOLD) Bacchus Handmade Woodline DX Natural Oil 2014
Bacchus Woodline Deluxe, natural finish, made in Japan 2014. This is such a great bass, it punches so hard. Bacchus Handmade series means made by hand: no CNC machines are used, just extremely skilled craftspeople in a small workshop doing things the old fashioned way. That translates to good woodwork: look at that piece of ash, my oh my. It's a classy two-piece centre-join number, with the wide wavy grain lines on show under the thin natural oil style finish. The neck is great too: slim and quick, super straight and stable, with super tight consistent grain and a slick satin finish. The sound is thick and convincing: fat lows with a fast and full attack, growling creamy midrange and a little it of snappy sweetness on the top end. It's a simple passive setup, but the clarity and warmth on deck will mean this sits perfectly in a mix in all sorts of genres. These were pretty high end when this was new, it cost 3-4x as much as a Fender Japan Standard Jazz Bass, so you're getting a boutique, well crafted instrument for a very manageable dime. These are a shop favourite for good reason, come get some!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has minor dimples on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and rub wear on the back only. The back has some rub wear around the neck join, belly carve and bottom corner, as well as some light surface scratches in the middle of the body, elbow area and bottom horn, no major marks. The sides have scuffs on the top horn, rub wear and dimples in the elbow area, dimples near the jack and some dimples and rub wear on the bottom horn. The front has minor scuffs near the bridge and knobs, dimples and rub wear in the elbow area and some play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: very good condition (7.5/10)
Playing Condition Notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 45/105 Moonshiners strings.
