Bacchus GSB-68V, cherry red, made in Japan 2000. Bacchus' Vintage Series guitars were made in the late 90s and early 00s, with a selection of models based on some classic offerings from Fender and Gibson. This one was based on the 1968 Gibson SG Standard, so it's got a slim taper neck, fretboard binding and trap inlays, a 'batwing' guard and the classic setup of two humbuckers and a stop tail piece. It's frightfully well executed: lightweight at 3kg, but with a beautifully ribbon-grained mahogany body, beautiful tapered neck shape with the fret ends hidden under the binding, house-made proper PAF-style pickups... as with all of Deviser Group's higher end offerings, they weren't mucking around. The tone is awesome: punchy and percussive with a walloping low end, growly creamy mids and a nice little piquant pinch on the top. It's resonant and bright enough to clean up nicely on the neck pickup, which is impressive for an SG, and complex enough to really get the harmonics singing with the bridge pickup into a dirty amp. The neck has had a minor repair, notes below on that. This plays and sounds better than many USA made examples of the genre I've played; it's a very satisfying thing in the hands. BSG FTW.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has a chip in the lacquer on the end, a dimple on the back near the serial number and some clouding on the black front. The neck suffered a minor crack and has been professionally repaired by our house tech, it's visible as a pair of dimples near the nut on the bass side and a line running behind the truss rod cover across the front. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, very minor dimples on the back only. The back has a dent near the electronics cover and some minor scuffs on the horns and elbow area. The sides have minor dimples on both horns and light scuffs in the elbow area and near the jack. The front has light scuffs near the jack and along the back edge, rub wear around the tailpiece and up from the bridge pickup and some play wear on the guard and horns. Three of the knobs are missing their caps. Overall: vey good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The frets are great, 9/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
