(SOLD) Epiphone Double Neck SG Alpine White G-1275 2006
Epiphone SG Double Neck, made in Korea 2006, alpine white. This striking creation was a limited run by the Epiphone Custom shop, made out of Korea's Unsung factory. The model was conceived as an affordable recreation of Jimmy Page's famed 'stairway to heaven' guitar, although the original double SGs pre-date that epic tune by several years and gained some very famous fans. 'MIK' Epiphone guitars are renowned for their consistently great build quality, and this is a great example of why: it really adds up nicely in the hands. It's surprisingly intuitive to play; switching between necks is easy, the string spacing on the 12 neck is sensible, and the switching system is fairly simple to use. Once it's in your hands, its remarkably easy to forget what an enormous and strange beast it is and just get lost in playing. A fun option is to flick the switch to the 12-string output and then play some big aggressive rhythm parts on the 6-string neck... the natural cross-pollination of resonance creates this etheral swell effect that's akin to a spacy keys-pad; perfect with a bit of gain and a stack of reverb. Needless to say, this is a rare and collectable beast, especially being both made in Korea and an unusual finish.... if it's on your bucket-list, don't wait too long.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. There's a chip in the finish near the electronics cover on the back, that's the biggest thing. Aside from that, it's just some rub-wear near the back of the lower neck joint, some minor buckle rash and a few dimples here and there. Overall: very good condition (8/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have very little wear, 9/10 for life left. Both necks playing well!
