(SOLD) Epiphone Japan Lacquer Series Les Paul Junior Cherry 2007
Epiphone Lacquer Series LP Jr, cherry red, made in Japan 2007. Oh boy, I love these Epi Japan guitars, they're just so good. The lacquer series stuff was made for a couple of years in the mid 00s exclusively for the Japan market. You get a lot of classy touches: Gibson USA pickup and wiring, super thin nitro finish, factory bone nut, a premium grade mahogany body and the vintage G-style open book headstock. Unplugged in the hands, it absolutely pops: heaps of volume and resonance, every little touch sees it ringing enthusiastically. Plugged in, this has a heap of brightness and chime to balance the punchy and thick midrange; it's very satisfying indeed. The neck is fairly slim and very friendly; it's arrow straight with very tidy frets, plus the finish feels nice and slick. The cherry/tort/rosewood combo is a winner too, although the LP Jr shape needs no help to look superb in the first place. These very seldom escape Japan and they're built far better than many far pricier options, so nab yourself a very fine friend while it's going.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has no major marks. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has widespread but light scuffs and surface scratches, no major marks. The sides are pretty clean, just a minor chip in the elbow area and some dimples near the jack and on the bottom horn. The front us also pretty tidy, just some dimples on the back edge and in the elbow area and some play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: very good condition (7.5/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have minor wear; 8/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
