Epiphone Thunderbird, black, made in China 2021. The T-bird has gotta be one of the coolest bass shapes ever designed. This is a recent take on the genre by Epiphone, and it's a lot of fun to play. The big long neck balances well against the offset body, so it sits comfortably on a strap or a lap and feels pretty agreeable in the hands. The tone is dark, round and juicy, with plenty of midrange growl that will round out a mix in a grunge or doom band perfectly. I prefer the black over sunburst in this model, prove me wrong if you dare. What's the saying again... a Thunderbird in the hand is better than two in the bush?
