Fender '57 Stratocaster, surf green, made in Japan 2010-11. I love green Strats, you love green Strats, we all love green Strats, right? This is a more recent take on the classic Fender Japan ST57, and I must say, these 2010-15 era examples really do sound great. There's heaps of chime and sparkle, but with an airy, creamy midrange and a satisfying percussive bass response. It's especially magic on those 'in between' switch positions, perfect for all your Jimi tendencies. The neck is beefy rounded profile with some really tidy tight maple grain, it's reassuring and agreeable in the hands. We see '62 style Strats with a rosewood board in the surf green colour more often than the maple-adorned '57 model like this, and I must say... the coastal cool of the green and the warm golden maple does it for me, it looks perfect.

The back has some dimples on the bottom horn, bottom edge and belly carve, as well as widespread light scuffs, no major marks. The sides have some dimples on both horns and some scuffs and marks in the elbow area and near the jack, nothing nasty. The front is pretty tidy, just some very light scuffs near the jack and elbow area and some play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: very good condition (8/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The frets have minor wear only, 8/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
