(SOLD) Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster Candy Green 1995
Fender Eric Strat, candy green, made in USA 1995. Sir Eric casts a mastodon shadow over the guitar universe: few players boast the influence and notoriety he has maintained over several decades. His signature model launched in 1988 to great acclaim; this dates to a few short years later. The recipe: take Eric's famous 1954 Strat, copy the neck profile but soften the 'V' shape slightly and add a 22nd fret and a modern 9.5" radius, drop in some tasty Lace Sensor pickups and add the super powerful TBX treble boost/cut on one tone knob and a hefty 25dB mid boost on the second tone control. The tone on offer is a lot of fun. The Lace pickups deliver a generous glass full of clarity and eloquence, and then with the boosts on offer you can add a whole heap of burning fatness or sizzling zing. Being able to roll your finger and go from trad Strat-spank to a creamy LP-ish growl is awesome. The neck has a bit of natural wear on the edges of the board, so it has a nice played-in feel. The soft-V shape is surprisingly intuitive, it's easy to move around on and feels great for both juicy chords and snappy leads. These came in black, red, white, pewter grey and this delightful candy green finish, and the green seems to be the trickiest of the lot to find as a rule. It's an outstanding finish: fine metallic flake shimmering through a vibrant forest green, paired with the subtle warm maple board... what a vibe. The original case is missing, but we paired this with a sturdy hard case so it's ready to roll. Ericyeah!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some light scuffs on the bottom edge and the front near the signature decal. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor rub wear on the treble edge of the board and minor dimples on the back only. The back has some scuffs near the neck plate, belly carve and elbow area, nothing nasty. The sides have a few scuffs in the elbow area. The front has some dimples around the jack, scuffs around the bridge and some play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: very good condition (8.5/10).
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. Electronics tested and working properly. The frets have some normal wear but they're pretty even with no major buzz issues, 7/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
