(SOLD) Fender Japan '57 Stratocaster ST57-58US Sunburst 2004
Fender '57 Strat, sunburst, crafted in Japan 2004-5. This is a really lovely vintage style Strat, it's simple and effective. First up, the two tone finish shows off some cool grain: there's a big eye-like circular mark in the elbow area and a bunch of lovely parallel lines on show below the classy amber to black fade. The neck is straight and stable and again shows off some lovely grain lines, it's a prime piece of maple and feels really homely in the hands. The USA-made ST-Vintage pickups are bright and chiming with a nice balance between creamy warmth in the mids and sparkly jangle on the top end. Lead lines pop with clarity and shimmer while chords enjoy a juicy gooey warmth. A good Strat should have you enjoying yourself quickly and deliver all the subtlety and nuance of your playing back to you in zesty detail, and this certainly does the thing.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has a couple of dimples on the end and bottom edge. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, no major marks. The back has a couple of dimples on the lower horn and elbow area and a few light scuffs around the body, no major marks. The sides have some light scuffs near the jack and in the elbow area, nothing nasty. The front has some dimples behind the bridge, near the jack and on the top horn, as well as some light play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: very good condition (8/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The frets have some minor wear but they're in pretty reasonable shape with no major buzz issues, 7/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
