(SOLD) Fender Japan '57 Stratocaster ST57-770LS Sunburst 1991
Fender '57 Strat, two tone sunburst, made in Japan 1991. Yesssss.... this is good. In the 80s and 90s in Japan, Eric Clapton reigned supreme, so Fender Japan offered a black '54 reissue model with a soft-V neck, a set of tasty Lace Sensor pickups and a mid-boost. They sold a heap of those over the years, but they also made a this: a '57 style model with a chunky round neck, the classic two tone finish and the same electronics. It's a mighty combo, this surely sounds exceptional. The Lace pickups are extremely clear: heaps of articulation, crystal clear note separation, amazing balance. The boost offers subtle thickening that adds just enough warmth to get things cooking... delicious. The neck is a dream: these early MIJ examples are made of outstanding pieces of wood and put together with incredible care and attention, so this just feels integrous and confident in the hands, ready to roll. In the hands, it takes about 45 seconds to fall in love with this one. Take it away please, it won't stop looking at me!

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. Headstock has minor marks on the end and bottom edge. Neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has widespread dimples, scuffs and light checking lines, no major marks though. The sides have a few light scuffs and dimples around the whole body, no major marks though. The front is nice and tidy, just some dimples around the edge and some play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: very good condition (8/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have very some normal wear but are in good shape, 7/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
