Fender Japan ST62-55 Strat, made in Japan 1986, rebel yellow. Rebel yellow was a catalog finish on this model for a few short years in the 80s... heck, it's a wild colour. With a few decades of honest play wear on the clock, this is striking a perfect balance of classy and offensive. Here we have an 'E serial' example: this was made at the excellent Fujigen Gakki factory a couple of short years after the iconic JV serial guitars, Fender's first ever instruments made outside USA. The neck is superb: a dark streaky slab rosewood paired with a gorgeous tightly grained piece of maple, carved to a comfy slim vintage C. It's great in the hands, smooth and comfy with plenty of resonance. The pickups are a set of Custom Shop Fat 50s singles, which are great fun. They're thick and full, but with heaps of chime, and the in-between positions are extra plonky and quacky. It's been ages since we had a rebel yellow through, I'm always stoked to have one!

The neck has some minor dimples and scuffs on the back, no major marks. The back has a couple of patches of fading near the cavity and elbow area, as well as widespread minor dimples, shallow dents and minor scuffs around the whole body. The sides have minor scuffs around the whole body and some dimples on the elbow area and near the jack. The front has some dimples around the jack, elbow area and behind the bridge, as well as some checking lines behind the bridge, scuffs on the top horn and some minor play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: good condition (7.5/10).

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets have some normal wear but they're freshly polished and pretty even in height with no major buzz issues, 6/10 for fret life left. Setup with fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
