(SOLD) Fender Japan '69 Mustang MG69 Candy Apple Red 2010
Fender '69 Mustang, candy apple red, made in Japan 2010-11. This is so much fun, it's hard to put down. The combo of a lightweight, small body, short 24" scale, slim rounded C shape neck with a 40mm nut and the simple controls and trem make for a superbly easy playing experience... it basically plays itself. Normally we set the action on these a little higher to balance the shorter scale, but this time we set this one up nice and low, so it's all fun and no effort. The tone is sweet too: typical Mustang plonk, with heaps of rounded, punchy attack, warm natural lows and short, cheeky sustain. With a dash of spring reverb, it's a delight. The deep sparkle of the red finish looks great too, it's surely going to look excellent on stage. Winner winner chicken dinner.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has minor scuffs on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, no major marks. The back has widespread light scuffs around the whole body but no major marks. The sides have a few dimples near the jack, in the elbow area and on the top horn. The front has a couple of tiny dimples around the tailpiece and some light play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: very good condition (8/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, intonation is good, neck is straight, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have minor wear only, 8/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
