(SOLD) Fender Japan '69 Reissue Mustang MG69-65 Aged Sonic Blue 1996
Fender '69 Reissue Mustang, heavily yellowed sonic blue, made in Japan 1996. Some guitars just radiate coolness, and this is definitely one of them. This left the factory a nice shiny sonic blue, but it's yellowed naturally with age and play to a delightful seafoam green colour; it's looking superb. A bit of checking, some sticker marks and a smattering of minor dings really add to the natural-relic awesomeness. Combines with the aged golden maple headstock and the cream plastics, this is a supremely cool looking guitar. The famed Mustang-playability is on tap: the short scale, lightweight body, skinny neck and sensible tremolo combine for a brilliantly easy player that's hard to put down. The slinky, immediate tone is perfect for punk, grunge and surf; it loves to swim in a river of gain and effects. It's obviously been played and played; it has the resonance and mojo that only comes with thousands of hours of play. You'll be better off with it in your life basically!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has a couple of minor marks on the end. The neck is pretty clean. The back has a smattering of light scratches and dents spread around the whole back, as well as some sticker fade marks and some checking lines. The sides have a few marks: dimples on the top horn, some checking rash on the 'waist' area on the top, some dimples and scuffs on the shoulder, some dimples near the rear strap pin, a handful of chips and dimples near the jack, and some minor marks, a small chip on the bottom horn and a small, short, finish-only crack in the neck pocket. The front is cleaner, but still has a dappling of light marks along the top horn, shoulder, back edge and near the knobs, as well as some checking lines and normal play scratches on the guard. Overall: good condition (6.5/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, intonation is good, neck is straight, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear, they don't require immediate attention as they're fairly even and freshly polished but have minor pitting and some height reduction, 5/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 11/49s.
