Fender '70 Precision Bass, olympic white, crafted in Japan 1999-02. These CBS-style reissue model P basses look so cool, the big headstock with the bold logos is awesome. This one is wearing a coat of olympic white with plenty of marks and honest play wear, which paired with the black guard, smoky chrome and super dark rosewood board, looks a treat. The neck is a whisker thinner at the nut than other MIJ models at 40mm, so it feels like a halfway point between a P and a J, which is very comfy indeed. The lightweight alder body is super resonant, you can feel all the notes resonating through your body as you play, which is awesome. That natural resonance combined with a handy upgraded Duncan pickup makes for a monster tone: heaps of punch, superbly fat mids, satisfying round lows and a tasty little whisker of cut on the top end... it's a proper vintage P tone, executed brilliantly and superbly satisfying. In my books, this is exactly what a bass should be.

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. The headstock has some minor scuffs on the end and bottom edge. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has widespread dimples and scuffs, some checking lines, a sticker fade mark and a decent dent on the bottom corner... lots of minor marks but nothing hectic. The sides have a few marks on both horns and the elbow area, some dents and marks near the rear strap pin as well as some decent chips and dents near the jack. The front is tidier, but there's plenty of dimples around the bridge and in the elbow area as well as some play wear and dimples on the horns and guard. Overall: good condition (7/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets look pretty good, minor wear only; 8/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105 Moonshiners strings.
