Fender Precision, white, crafted in Japan 1999-02. I think these 1970-style Precision examples have got to be our biggest selling bass, we love them around here and it would seem many folks agree. First up, it looks awesome: creamy white finish, tastefully decorated with sticker fade marks, yellowing and light scuffs from play, accented by the black guard and bold black logos. The neck has a 40mm nut, putting it halfway between a vintage style P and Jazz in terms of width and profile. The slightly slimmer neck and the lightweight body make for easy playing: it's intuitive and comfy and never makes you work too hard. The alder body and USA pickup make for a tasty tone: fat and full, rounded lows, clear through the treble, plenty of punch. This is a very easy bass to enjoy, the thing just works a treat.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has a minor chip in the lacquer on the front at the top, some dimples on the end and some dents on the bottom edge. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has some large sticker fade marks as per the pics, as well as scuffs along the back edge, bottom edge, along the belly carve and in the elbow area and some dents near the neck joint. The sides have dimples and discolouration on the top horn, dents and scuffs in the elbow area and near the jack, and some dimples on the bottom horn. The front has some sticker marks up from and in front of the bridge, scuffs along the back edge, dimples and  scuffs in the elbow area and some play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: good condition (7/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The frets look great, minor wear only; 8/10 for life left. Set up with fresh 45/105s.

This listing is an archived entry. We love to look back and remember fondly what characters we've had through the store, so we keep them around for reference.
