Fender Precision Bass, refinished in sonic blue, made in USA 1978. Dang... this looks good. This isn't a museum piece, but if you're after a superb vintage P with heaps of personality, this will do the job. First up, the refin: this was done by our local guitar finishing specialist, who's painted the body in a fresh coat of sonic blue and topped it with period-correct style clear poly. The neck has also been refinished, with some spot repairs on the board and a smooth satin poly on the neck, so that's all feeling really good. This also has some new pots, an original vintage Badass II bridge and a set of modern tuners. All that means it's in great playing shape, so there's no maintenance issues to sort out. The ash body, maple board and high-mass bridge mean there's plenty of snap and definition on offer. You get a clear, crisp and growly take on the classic P-punch, with plenty of weighty lows on deck to round things out convincingly. The neck is a chunky 70s U shape, typical of the era and intuitive for simple lines. This is a really fun vintage bass, it's up for a good time and will look great by the pool.
