Gibson J-15, natural gloss, made in USA 2017. The J-15 was made from 2014-19, featuring some quirky specs and enjoying a bit of a cult following. The round-shoulder dreadnought style shape references Gibson's classic J-45; always a good looker in my books. What makes the J-15 unique is largely the timber selection: rock maple for the neck and walnut for the back and sides, both departures from the usual mahogany/rosewood options. The neck feels good in the hands: it's a moderate rounded profile with a friendly body join, and the maple lends it plenty of natural strength and a cool blonde look. The walnut on the back looks fantastic: doghair detail paired with big wide colour variation and some subtle flaming... awesome. The tone on offer is dense and warm, with an understated round low end and a friendly, unassuming voice. The LR Baggs pickup is a handy factory addition too: it's a simple piezo based system, but it's pretty accurate and clear and translates the unplugged sound nicely. This one includes the original case and docs.

The back has some scuffs near the neck joint and some dimples on the bottom corner, nothing nasty. The sides have some minor dimples on the top shoulder, elbow area and bottom corner, no major marks. The front has a couple of dimples behind the bridge and along the back edge and some play wear on the shoulders. Overall: excellent condition (9/10).

Playing condition notes: Low action, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets look nice and even and in pretty good shape, 8/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 12/54 Moonshiners strings.
