Gibson Les Paul Studio Alpine White 1995`

Gibson LP Studio, faded white, made in USA 1995. It has swagger, no? These mid-90s Studios are well renowned, and if you can get one like this with a solid mahogany body, ebony board and gold hardware, you're certainly in for a good time. Needless to say, this has been played: if you want a mint example this is not for you. But, it feels so satisfying to play. It's a moderate weight for an LP, with an unchambered body and maple carved top and a very generous dose of natural resonance. The neck is a comfy slim 60s style shape, with the gloss finish worn down to a more satin style look and feel with all the hours on the clock, and the ebony board is a lux touch. The pickups are stock, but they sure deliver: I plugged this into my old JCM800 combo, and straight away it just sounded right. The highs are open and sweet, the midrange is wide and dynamically expressive and the low end is rounded and warm... the neck pickup is pretty bright and clear and the bridge pickup has a tasty little midrange kick that gets an amp cooking. The finish was once white, but it's been played and played, stickered and cleaned and generally lived a full life, so it's a living coat of baked cheesecake goodness now. There's a lot of uninspiring Studios out there, but this: it makes me feel feelings.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some scuffs on the end and both edges and some bald patches on the corners, the front has a sticker mark, surface scratches and plenty of scuffs and the back has discolouration and scuffs. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands. The headstock hasn't had a full break, but the fretboard has been re-glued to the  neck at the nut end, which is a fairly common repair; it's really well executed and feels super slick in the hands. The neck has plenty of rub wear, finish checking, dimples and scuffs on the back and edges. The back has a sticker mark in the middle, some bald patches on the top edge on the top horn and bottom edge near the cavity, as well dimples near the neck join and elbow area and widespread scuffs, fading and checkout around the whole body, with notable scuffs along the back edge. The sides have checking lines, scuffs and dimples around  the whole body, as well as some minor dents near the jack. The front has a few sticker marks on the top horn, between the pickups and behind the bridge, a dent on the top horn, dimples in the elbow area and near the knobs, as well as a bunch  of checking  lines, fading and scuffs around the whole body.
Overall: good condition (6.5/10)

Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
Fret Life: 7/10, normal play wear with minor pitting on the first few frets, appear to be recently cleaned and levelled, playing  smoothly with no major buzz issues.
