Gibson SG Gothic Morte, made in USA 2011. Gibson's Gothic series has been through a number of iterations, and this is one of the later versions. All the versions have somee things in common: black finish, ebony board, minimal fretboard inlays. This Morte version has no inlays at all, a satin finish and a pair of Gibson's own 'GEM' active humbuckers.... nothing to do with EMG, apparently. First, it plays nicely: the neck is comfy, it balances well, and the hardware is sturdy and reliable. The pickups are unashamedly geared towards dirty sounds: into a dirty amp, the chuggability is marvellous. It's weighty on the low end and packed with harmonics, bringing all your shred-tricks to life in angry detail. The finish looks awesome too, it's got a little bit of rub wear around the edges and has a certain morgue-swagger about it. Very fun indeed.

The sides have some dimples and rub wear in the elbow area and some light scuffs on the bottom horn and near the jack. The front has a dimple on the back edge near the strap pin, rub wear in the elbow area and some play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: very good condition (8/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. Frets have normal wear but no major buzz issues, 7/10 for life left. No headstock breaks! Setup with fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
