Greco EG500 LP copy, honeyburst, made in Japan 1977. This is a great example of vintage Japanese LP goodness; it's very tasty indeed. The first thing you notice is the beautiful two piece maple top; it's nicely matched and the flame intensifies the close to the centre line you look... lovely. The burst finish is in great shape for 40+ years old; it could easily pass for much younger. The weight relieved body and slim neck make for a comfortable pair; it's an easy player that's nicely balanced and loves a good run up and down the neck. The tone is all there: bite, definition, sustain, harmonics, low-end and sizzle... it all tumbles forth effortlessly with the lightest touch. There's a reason these guitars created such acute headaches for Gibson in their day: this is a superb instrument, built to an exceptional standard. Join the MIJ LP club, it's a great club to be in.
