Gretsch 6119 Tennessee Rose 2003
Gretsch 6119, transparent red, made in Japan 2003. The Tennessee Rose was a Chet Atkins model back in the 50s, similar to the bright orange 6120 model but with a more reasonable finish and a bit less bling. This was made at the Terada factory in Japan, and they do amazing work: the wood work is awesome, the finish is just right, and the thing has that certain integrity in the hands. The tone is big and hairy, with a gooey warm growl on the neck pickup and a snappy, creamy bark on the bridge. Extremely cool.
