Gretsch G5420TG, dark cherry and gold finish, made in Korea 2018. If you're gonna buy this, I hope you've got an enormous attitude and sunglasses to match. You do? Perfect. This here was a limited run anniversary edition of the classic Gretsch 5420, which is the Electromatic version of the classic Chet Atkins 'Nashville' 6120 model. It's blessed with an outrageous two tone metallic cherry and gold finish, which is sure to make you smile and certainly demands attention. It feels great in the hands: the neck is moderately slim and super comfy and the body is light and resonant, it's surprisingly ergonomic for a larger guitar. The tone is thick, warm and gooey: the neck pickup delivers a full-voiced smoky richness, perfect for big jazz chords and eloquent leads, while the bridge pickup offers a tasty dash of sizzle and sheen on the treble end and a growling midrange when you dig in. It's a very enjoyable thing to play and rewards an expressive touch. Sometimes we all need a giant purple and gold guitar, right?

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock and neck are pretty clean, no major marks. The back has some barely visible dimples in the elbow area. The sides have some tiny dimples near the input jack. The front has a couple of very light scuffs in the elbow area and near the knobs as well as some play marks on the guard and horns. Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have minor wear only, 8/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
