(SOLD) Ibanez Prestige RG5121 Burgundy Metallic Flat 2021
Ibanez Prestige RG5121, burgundy, made in Japan 2021. If you buy an Ibanez Prestige, you always know you're going to get a very, very good guitar. This is a recent model in near-new condition, and it's a worthy addition to the ongoing story. The neck is arrow-straight, carved to a shred-friendly slim-D style shape and made from a laminate maple and wenge combo for extra stability. The ebony board and stainless steel frets are classy touches too, this feels classy and crisp in the hands. The Fishman pickups are active, but don't really sound like an EMG or Dimarzio. The tone on offer has plenty of output and low end, but there's a certain balance and fullness through the mids not typical of active HBs. The 'voice' switch adds some 800hZ-ish midrange focus if you need to cut through a mix, which is handy. The burgundy satin finish is pretty saucy too, especially with the matching headstock. Our own JT loves it for jazz, but maybe it's... djazz?

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock and neck have no major marks. The back has no major marks. The sides have a minor dimple in the elbow area. The front has some light play wear on the horns. Overall: excellent condition (9.5/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets have almost no wear, 9/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 11-49 Moonshiners strings.
