Ibanez TR70 bass, black, made in Japan 1998. The TR series was launched in 1996 to appeal to bass players after a more 'traditional' style bass... not everyone likes them black and pointy apparently. This is a great little simple bass, it works a treat. The neck is a moderate round profile, similar to a sixties style P bass, but wearing a slick coat of satin poly, so it feels very quick and easy to move around on. The tone is remarkable: it's got a huge low end and an immediate, thumping attack. There's plenty of snap on the top end, but it's always fat and juicy. The body is super light and comfy too. If you're after a handy bass to get going on, this will outperform almost all comers at the dime. Thanks Ibanez, you've done it again.
