Ric 4003, Fireglo, made in USA 1997. It's hard to resist the charms of this spicy hellbeast. This dates to 1997, so it's got a bit of wear and tear around the finish to prove it's played a few tunes in it's time. I kinda like that though, the Fireglo finish looks better with a touch of the shininess taken off it. At a whisker over 4kg, this is on the lighter side for a Ric bass, which is a handy bonus. It's resonant and snarky in the hands, rewarding an assertive playing action with a satisfying unplugged loudness. This era of Ric is blessed with their 'Hi-Gain' pickups, which dole out a hot, full and warm tone with no shortage of presence and definition. It's best served with a generous dose of distortion, although there's a sweet clarity and plonk to it that translates well clean too. It comes with one of the coolest gig bags I've seen in ages, but I have no idea what became of the OG case, sorry! Be sure to buy yourself some excellent shades and a mean hat to match.

The sides have a few dimples and scuffs around the whole body, as well as some wear on the binding on the bottom horn and elbow area. The front has a decent rub wear patch that looks like it's been professionally repaired above the neck pickup, as well as some dents on the edges in the elbow area and below the knobs, as well as widespread light scuffs and some play wear on both horns. Overall: good condition (7/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, both truss rods work. The frets have minor wear only, 9/10 for fret life left. Electronics all tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 45/105 Moonshiners strings.
