Rickenbacker 4003 Midnight Blue 2012
Rickenbacker 4003, midnight blue, made in USA 2012. There's not a cooler bass going around than a Rickenbacker, surely. This one is wearing a fancy coat of midnight blue, which looks almost black... but, it's got that subtle metallic shimmer that will surely do it's best work under the glimmer of stage lights. Paired with the big triangle inlays and abundance of chrome, it looks fabulously mean. The neck is a typical Ric beefy D shape, and once you get used to it, this has a sturdy and bulletproof feel. The tone is all fire: grinding, snarly high end, heaps of growl and kick through the mids paired with a fast, tuneful bass. It's absolutely perfect with a dose of dirt, it hits with such gusto. This one is in great shape with the original case. You don't see many in these parts, so this is a cool score.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has a couple of chips on the treble edge near the G tuner and some scuffs on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and some light scuffs on the back only. The back has scuffs on the top horn, a dimple on the bottom horn, scuffs along the top edge and some dimples in the elbow area. The sides have a scuff on the top horn, dimples in the elbow area and some scuffs near the bridge. The front has dimples around the bridge and knobs and some paly wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: very good condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 45/105 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 9/10, minor wear only
