(SOLD) Squier Japan Silver Series Stratocaster SST33 Snow White 1993
Squier Silver Series Strat, white, made in Japan 1993-4. We often talk about these models as an excellent platform for mods, and the previous owner of this one has really leaned into that mood. First up, it's been refinished in extra crispy white, and the fretboard has been partially scalloped. The finish job is good: it's smooth and consistent and looks like a pro job to me. The neck is a moderate D style shape, comfy and quick in the hands, and the scallop job is also very tidy. It means those top notes come out with enhanced clarity and sustain and allows for bigger bends and more finely controlled vibrato, so if you're keen to insert extra nuance into your solos, this is the ticket. The wiring has been cleaned up by our tech, so it's all in good order under the hood, and that Noiseless single coil in the bridge slot will please those with heavily overdriven desires. This really does sound great, it's clear and punchy with heaps of tasty Strat-spank on tap. A quick internet search on the current Australian street price of a basic new Classic Vibe Strat will make you feel very good about buying this, it's so much guitar for the cash it's silly.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some scuffs and dimples on the end and edges. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only, noting the scalloped board above the 15th fret. The back has s dent between the trem cavity and the back edge, showing a bit of the original red finish, as well as light scuffs in the elbow area and back and bottom edges. The sides have dimples on the top horn and elbow area, scuffs near the jack and some inconsistency in the finish on the bottom horn. The front has scuffs along the back edge and elbow area and some play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The frets have some normal wear, but they're fairly even with no major buzz issues, 6/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/46 strings.
