(SOLD) Squier MIJ Stratocaster SST30 Black 1986
Squier SST30 Strat, made in Japan 1986, black. This is very good indeed, and it's in incredible shape. Squier was a very young brand when this rolled off the production line at the famed Fujigen Gakki plant. The 80s Japanese Squier guitars are noted for a build quality that far exceeded the later offerings from Fender's Fullerton USA plant, and this really shows off what all the fuss is about. The golden-syrup maple neck is truly outstanding in the hands; it feels brilliant. There's some beautiful figuring on show... the piece of maple is really quite brilliant. The rest of the guitar stacks up too: the body is light and lively, the hardware is solid and the whole thing feels sublime. The stock ceramic pickups produce a clear, articulate take on the classic Strat tone that radiates charm. It's hard to believe this is 32 years old, it could easily be only one or two years old gong on the condition. If you're after a classically styled black Strat with mojo to burn that'll confuse and amaze your friends with it's brilliance, look no further.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. There's some minor marks on the end and back of the headstock. The neck is pretty clean with minor dimples only. The back of the body has some barely visible light buckle rash and some very little marks on the back edge near the strap pin. The front is pretty clean, just a handful of minor scratches near the jack, behind the bridge and on the guard and top horn from play. Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have very minor wear, around 7.5/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 10/46s, playing great!
