Squier CTL30 Telecaster, made in Japan in 1985, black on black. E-serial Squier Strats aren't exactly common, but the 80s MIJ Squier Teles... they're very hard to come by; this is the first one we've managed to score. It's a super cool item: the black-on-black-on-rosewood looks clean and classy, and it doles out the classic T-tone with effortless ease. There's a really nice clean 'ping' on the neck pickup, and a tasty grunty chime on the bridge setting; it's eager to please. The best thing about it is the neck: it's just so nice in the hands. It's slim, quick sturdy and features some really nice grain... the quality of the maple and rosewood used is excellent. Fender branded Teles from the same era and the same factory are becoming very scarce and starting to fetch prices north of $1.2k; so this little guy is surely a smart and bargainous addition for the discerning player or collector.

Model: Squier Telecaster, CTL30
Made: Japan, 1985 (serial E546147, neck date 15 Oct 85)
Finish: black, 1-ply black guard
Body: alder as per catalog, not 100% certain
Neck: maple with rosewood board, dot inlays
Mods: none
Pickups: Squier Japan TL Singles
Case: basic Fender gig bag

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. The most conspicuous marks are a pair of chips above and below the rear strap pin, both approx 1cm across. Aside from that, there's some light scratches on the back and front, a couple of dents on the front and some mild pitting on the chrome. Looking pretty good for 33 years old! Overall condition: good condition (7/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal play wear, they're pretty even; 6.5/10 for life left. Cool little guy!
