(SOLD) Teisco EP-2L Hollow Body 1966-69
Teisco EP-2L hollow body, made in Japan 1966-9, formerly white. This is a cute little vintage Japanese hollow body, it's a lot of fun. It's in good shape playing-wise: the frets are okay, the hardware is working, the electronics are all working as they should, the truss rod works... more than can be said for many guitars of this vintage. The finish is looking awesome; the checking and mottling in the finish, the cool aluminium guard and plate... it's a charming looking little thing. The tone is dark and thick with a plonky attack and a warbling sustain; it gets along well with ambient effects and gain and definitely has a slinky appeal. There's a lot to like here, and it must be said: what a cutie!

Cosmetic condition notes: moderate finish wear. There's a fair few scuffs on the headstock, as well as a few little chips on the end and back. The neck is in good functional shape, but there's some finish checking near the headstock end and a few little dents, scuffs and mottling up and down the back. Fretboard is in pretty good shape. The back has a fair few little dings, marks and scuffs, but nothing major. The sides are looking pretty good, there's some hairline cracks in the finish near the binding where the guard attaches and up from the top f-hole as well as a few scuffs, dimples and fading. The front is pretty good too, just a bunch of checking lines and finish mottling and a few dimples. Hardware is all in working order and looks pretty good. Overall: good condition (6.5/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. Electronics all tested and working properly. One of the machine heads (D string) is pretty bent, but it's functional. There's a fair bit of wear on the frets, but it's currently playing okay and they're pretty even, 5/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 11/49s.
