Teisco NB-1 bass, made in Japan 1968 approx, sunburst. This certainly has some vintage Japanese cowboy swagger. It's got a single square-pole single coil pickup, which pumps out a thick, creamy tone not too distant in flavour from a Ric 4001. The body is fairly slim and light, it's well balanced and resonant and feels great in the hands. The neck is moderate in profile, not too far in shape from a regular P-bass; it's an easy player. The intonation holds up pretty well, although it's not as accurate as on a more modern bass, and the action is well under control and fairly low. If you're after something a little different that'll add some pump to your party, this is ready and waiting.

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. There's a few marks on the end and back of the headstock. There's a few dimples on the back of the neck, nothing nasty. Fretboard is in good shape. The back has quite a few small marks, most notably some scratches and scuffs around the bak edge and some scratches on the lower half of the body about 10cm from the back edge. There's a few marks around the edges, mostly around from the knobs and up from the bridge. The front has a bit of lacquer checking behind the bridge and some scuffs and rub wear from play, nothing nasty. Overall: good condition (7/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. Electronics all tested and working properly. There's a fair bit of wear on the frets, but it's currently playing okay and they're pretty even, 4/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 45/105s.
