(SOLD) Used Epiphone Les Paul Special Yellow MIJ 2007
Epihone Lacquer Series Les Paul Special, made in Japan in 2007, TV Yellow. This has attitude! Epiphone's 'Lacquer Series' was made for the Japan market only, they were high-end models with great finishes made at the unrivalled Fujigen Gakki plant. The finish is super thin and it's starting to age nicely, you can see the mahogany grain peeking through and some nice textures wearing in. The pickups are great, not too noisey and packing a big, full bark with that hot midrange you only get from a P90. The body is solid, but it's still nice and light; you can feel the resonance easily when it's unplugged. Gibson have often kept the LP Special in their fairly basic USA models, and they're not always consistently made. No such issues here: this is immaculately built and feels lively, responsive and sturdy. What a killer!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. There's a little chip on the end of the headstock, and some buckle rash on the back. The lacquer is thin, it's starting to age and the beginnings of some checking is starting to show. There's some scratches on the guard and above the strings from play. Pretty clean really, nothing to worry about. Overall: very good condition (8/10)/
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have a little wear, but there's heaps of life in them, 8/10. 100% cool!
