Fender Classic Series Stratocaster, made in Mexico 2012, surf green. It's pretty hard to think of a better finish on a Strat than this really, it looks so tasty. The maple neck is especially good, the soft-V profile is very comfortable and slim, and features some really nice grain. It packs the classic spank you expect from a Strat; loads of attack with plenty of body. There's been some handy mods: high quality Graphtech saddles, upgraded capacitor and a sturdier bridge. The body is also routed for a bridge position humbucker under the guard, so you could switch one in pretty easily if you wanted the HSS setup. The Classic Series are widely regarded as the pick of Fender's Mexican crop in terms of quality. Can't go wrong here!

Model: Fender Classic Series 50s Stratocaster
Made: Mexico, 2012 (serial MX12247195)
Finish: surf green, 1-ply white guard
Body: alder
Neck: maple with maple board, dot inlays, soft 'V' shape
Mods: body routed for bridge humbucker (covered by pickguard), Fender Japan bridge installed, orange drop capacitor installed, Graphtech saddles
Pickups: Fender vintage style single coils
Case: none

Cosmetic condition notes: minor cosmetic wear. There's a couple of dimples here and there, but nothing really noteworthy. The chrome has aged to a smoky look, the guard has some normal scratches from play but is still sitting flush and looks fine. Back plate missing. Pretty clean! Overall: very good condition, 8.5/10

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The neck is really comfortable, this is a crowd pleaser.

This listing is an archived entry. We love to look back and remember fondly what characters we've had through the store, so we keep them around for reference.
