(SOLD) Used Fender Stratocaster 40th Anniversary Butterscotch
Fender Strat '54 reissue, 40th anniversary special, made in Japan 1994. How tasty is the butterscotch finish on this one? You can see the sen ash body poking through the grain as it's aged, it's unusual on a Strat and looks so killer. The soft-V neck feels comfortable, it's very easy to move around and the foto-flame finish is pretty wild (just to clarify, it's a printed veneer; not AAA flame maple, but it looks and feels good!). The tone is glassy, bright and full; it's got great spank and heaps of warmth, helped along by the ash body. If you're after a Strat that's a little different to everyone else's, this one will definitely looks the part and has the tone to back it up.

Cosmetic condition notes: Moderate finish wear. There's a couple of hairline cracks in the foto-flame finish on the neck, they're not noticeable really when playing. There's a couple of chips in the lacquer on the front, one near the nridge and one on the top horn. The back has a bunch of sticker-marks from since-removed stickers, as well as a few scratches. The guard has some normal play wear, the chrome parts are dulled but work fine. Overall: good condition (7/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good, truss rod works. Frets have some wear have plenty of life left, maybe 7/10. Setup with fresh 10/46 strings. Playing really nicely.
