Our Thoughts: Ludwig Acrolites are a great choice for pro players wanting a dry cracking snare. The Acrolites pre-1979 had shells made with anodized aluminium and post-1980 used powdercoated aluminium. This results in slightly more resonance from the shell, however, it is very subtle. These snares are incredibly versatile, lending to whatever the player needs, responding well to any heads you throw on them. Currently we have a Kentville Drums kangaroo hide head on this one which is giving us a warm and dry attack that sits very nicely with our other vintage gear, bordering on a more modern snare sound, sitting somewhere wonderfully in between. We'd keep it if we could!

Overall, it is in good condition.
