Yamaha SR-400 Super R'n'Roller, sunburst finish. These were Yamaha's version of the '57 Strat, made briefly between in the late 70s/early 80s. The high-gloss sunburst finish has aged beautifully, it really shows off the grain of the Japanese sen-ash! The pickups and knobs have aged to a distinctive smoky-cream, which combined with the finish and well-played maple board give you a legit-vintage look that no modern guitar can really offer. The serial records are a little foggy, but a combination of the model and serial number dates this one to 1979. The neck is a medium-thick round profile, it's not huge but has plenty of substance and is slightly bigger than an MIJ Fender '57 reissue. The guitar is light and very resonant, it's pretty loud unplugged; you know you're getting a lot of tone from the ash body. It's got a big thick tone with plenty of attack and spank; this is a great vintage strat for a killer price!

Cosmetic condition notes: Minor cosmetic wear. The lacquer has aged beautifully, the grain really shows through. The neck lacquer is worn down, the pickups and knobs have yellowed significantly, the chrome has has aged nicely too. There's a few dimples and scratches etc round the body, nothing too nasty. Overall condition: good

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets are quite low, but fairly even, there's some minor minor pitting but there's plenty of life left in them. Recently been through a Topshelf setup with 10/46 strings and playing with ease; sounds great!
