(SOLD) WellWood Custom PJ Bass Ice Blue Metallic 2020
WellWood PJ, made in Hobart Australia 2020, ice blue metallic. WellWood is the project of local luthier Ed Moase. Ed has been building guitars and basses to order for years and specialises in blending classic styling with modern electronics, plus he loves a good pearl or metallic finish. This one was a workshop demo bass, so it's almost new but not quite. The finish is cool: classy clean ice blue metallic on the front, plus a vintage blocky paisley pattern stencilled under the clear coat not eh back and guard. It looks awesome, it's such a tasty mix of classic curves and quirky details. It's got a nice simple P/J pickup setup with handy bass/treble boost/cut control, so you can dial in heaps of different tonal textures. The thin finish on the neck already feels great and will surely continue to gloss up and become more magical with further play; it's got a simple and comfy feel about it. This kind of cash buys your four fifths of a bag of garbage on the brand new market these days, so if you're after a great little bass to get you going this one will surely prove a handy addition!

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has some minor dimples on the end. Neck is clean and smooth in the hands, just some minor rub wear on the back from play. The back has a couple of dimples near the neck joint, nothing nasty. The sides have no major marks. The front is pretty clean, just some dimples near the knobs and behind the bridge. Overall: excellent condition (9/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets look excellent, very minor wear only, 9.5/10 for fret life left. Set up with fresh 45/105s.
