Yamaha SA-60 semi-hollow in natural gloss, made in Japan 1974. This is a stunning item! It's really in incredible shape for a guitar that's well over 40 years old, it's very clean indeed. These old Yamaha's are incredibly well made; everything is exactly bang-on where it should be. The neck features some amazing birds-eye grain, it's very pretty and it feels equally as good to match. The tail-piece features some super cool embossed leather, it's a subtle addition that adds to the vintage charm. This shape is a Yamaha original, it's certainly got a cool vintage appeal and all the little details like the knobs, tuners, bridge and inlays all enhance the charm perfectly. The tone is where this really shines... it's thick, warm, responsive, resonant, expressive... just perfect. Yamaha really knocked it out of the park with this one, it's absolutely sublime. Pick it up now for a great dollar while they're still affordable and the word hasn't spread to far! Includes cool original case.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. There's a chip and some scratches on the side, immediately up from the bridge area. There's a few other minor dimples and scratches around the body, as well as some checking lines in the finish. Fretboard has some discolouration. It's in pretty remarkable condition really! Overall: very good condition (8.5/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, intonation is good, action is low, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly, they've just been re-soldered by our local pro luthier. Frets have some wear but are in reasonable shape, 7/10. Setup with fresh 11/49s. Great!
