Yamaha SR-400 Super R'n'Roller, sunburst finish. These were Yamaha's hybrid of a '57 and 70s Strat, made briefly between in the late 70s/early 80s. The high-gloss sunburst finish has aged beautifully, it really shows off the grain of the Japanese sen-ash! The pickups and knobs have aged to a distinctive smoky-cream, which combined with the finish and well-played maple board give you a legit-vintage look that no modern guitar can really offer. The addition of the ashtray cover and some original case candy is a big bonus. The neck is a medium-thick round profile, it's not huge but has plenty of substance and is very similar to an MIJ Fender '57 reissue. The guitar is light and very resonant, it's pretty loud unplugged; you know you're getting a lot of tone from the ash body. It's got a big thick tone with plenty of attack and spank; this is a great vintage Strat for a killer price!

Model: Yamaha SR-400 Super R'n'Roller
Made: 1979, Japan (best estimate, serial 010549)
Finish: three tone sunburst, gloss
Body: sen ash
Neck: maple with maple board, dot inlays
Weight: 3.6kg
Mods: none
Pickups: original, Yamaha single coils
Bonuses: original hang-tags and manual, basic gig bag

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. There's not a lot of dings to mention, just a couple of minor marks: above the guard, on the bottom edge near the knobs, on the top horn, on the end of the headstock. There's pitting on the chrome and play-wear and fading on the plastics. The neck lacquer is nicely worn-in. Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets are quite low, but fairly even, there's no major buzz issues, 5/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 10/46s, ready to roll.
