Achilles 5E3+ Replica Deluxe 1x12" Guitar Combo Amp
Achilles are Australia's premier amp building operation; they're making some really top notch stuff. This is an early example, so it's no longer available as a new model. It's a replica of the 50s-era Tweed style Deluxe Amp, which would go on to become the Deluxe Reverb in the 60s. It's a 12w, 1x12" format, and weighs in a hair under 12kg. It does one thing really: beautiful cleans that crunch up as you turn up the volume. It's a good trick: it's touch senstive, complex and warm and dynamically responsive. It's a great pedal platform, but if you showed up for a gig with nothing else, you could deliver the goods all night no problems running straight in. Sweet!
