(SOLD) AF Dean Parlour Acoustic 2014
AF Dean parlour acoustic, made in Australia 2014, natural satin. This one is a bit mysterious, but it's a nice thing. Anthony Dean was making acoustics to order on the South Coast of NSW for a few years, but without much of an online presence, so there's not a lot of info around and he seems to be retired now. We got this one from the original owner, who's name appears on the interior label. It's a nice build, with some classy binding around the fretboard and body, nice local timbers and an all-solid construction. The exact timber species is hard to verify, but it appears to be a celery top pine top and a QLD maple back and sides. The body looks to be based off the vintage style Gibson parlour guitars, but with a bit more depth for added bass response. It sounds lovely: midrange honk and growl, but with a musical and assured low end and a nice chirpy treble. If you're in town, come by for a strum, it's a nice thing.
