Bacchus Craft Series Strat style, US blonde, made in Japan 2015. Bacchus guitars came out in the 90s and quickly gained a reputation for outstanding quality. Founding luthier Sensei Momose trained the small crew of factory workers and was famously picky with wood: only the absolute best would do. This guitar is truly hand made: no CNC machines are used to cut the bodies and necks, it's all done by hand. That purist approach makes for a special guitar in the hands: this absolutely stomps. The neck is finished in super-thin gloss nitro, so it feels very slick and quick in the hands. It's a tasty moderate sixties style C shape with some gorgeous maple and rosewood grain in show, it really does feel awesome. The Mojotone pickups were factory standard on this model, which is a cool little bonus. They deliver a super thick, rich take on the Strat tone: amazing rich harmonics and a walloping low end punch, balanced out by a singing midrange and an eloquent top end. It's a seriously classy tone, it's really pretty close to  Fender Custom Shop quality on offer here. The finish lets the cheeky ash grain do the talking and has rubbed with play and yellowed with age already, so while it looks super classy today, I suspect it'll look it's best with a few hundred more hours play on the clock. If you make it yours, you'll amass that in no time... you won't want to put it down.
