Bacchus T 7-Special, natural finish, made in Japan 2017. Bacchus' standard Japan-made catalog models are always excellent guitars, but their custom and limited offerings are truly exceptional. Here we have a limited run take on their classic T-Master model. First up: it's a seven string. If you're interested in delving into the extended range universe, but disinclined to buy a black superstrat, you'll surely appreciate the understated grandeur on offer here. The neck is a comfy round shape, wide enough to offer sensible string spacing but slim enough to feel natural in the hands. The neck is carved from some very consistent tightly grained maple and a slab of rich, dark streaky rosewood, and finished in a thin satin finish for easy movement... classy as heck. The body is one piece of African mahogany: yep, no joins. It's difficult to overstate how unusual a one piece body is these days, especially in a heritage timber like mahogany. The grain on show under the satin natural finish rewards a close look, there's a lot of attractive swirling lines to follow as well as the tight 'doghair' grain throughout. It's got a sensible Hipshot hardtail bridge and tidy Gotoh tuners, so it holds tune calmly and consistently. The pickups are by Mojotone, with a Duncan single coil in the middle. They're very precise and clear, with a crystalline attack and a rich fundamental note. If you're into more detailed progressive acts like Chon, Covet, Animals as Leaders or Polyphia, this will cover those kind of tones very convincingly indeed. I kept this guitar in my personal stash for quite a while, it was extremely convincing in both live and studio settings; I'm only moving it on because I bought an almost identical example in a different finish. This is either a one-off or a very limited run, so you've probably got one shot to land it... don't miss.
