Bacchus Universe Series BJ1-R lefty jazz bass, white, made in China 2017 approx. The Universe Series is the entry-level offering from one of Japan's favourite bands, Bacchus. These do extremely well in Japan, but no effort is made to market them internationally, so we're all missing out on these great instruments! This one is a tidy, responsive, well-made take on the classic Fender Jazz Bass. It's very impressive in the hands; the neck feels super sturdy and quick, the body is resonant and comfy, and the build quality lends it a sense of 'mojo'. Bacchus is famous for making their own pickups, and these deliver heaps of tone: thick, bright, full and warm. The classic black-on-white look is understated and classy; it's hard to go wrong there. If you're after a lefty bass that'll punch hard against instruments 3-5 times the price, this one is surely a handy friend to have!

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. Neck and headstock very clean. Back has some very minor dimples only, no major marks. The sides have a couple of light scuffs on the shoulder and around from the jack. The front is also very tidy, just some light play wear on the guard, although removing the plastic cover on that should clean it right up. Overall: excellent condition (9/10)

Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have basically no wear, 9/10 for fret life left. Set up with fresh 45/105 strings.
