Blitz by Aria Pro II 'Leopard' BLP-450 Honeyburst 2016
Blitz Leopard BLP-450, honeyburst, made in Korea 2016 approx. It looks good, no? Blitz is a sub-brand of long revered Japanese builders Aria Pro II; they released a line of Gibson style guitars made offshore to a brilliant standard and sold them exclusively to the Japan market. This is the LP Standard style offering; so you get a sweet flame maple cap and the traditional hardware. It's awesome in the hands: the neck is slim and quick with great fretwork, the body is light and lively and the hardware is sturdy. Plugged in, this is a growly and rich take on the LP tone; there's plenty of beef on tap through the low end and midrange. The honeyburst finish shows off a very pretty piece of flame maple; it's certainly striking. This punches very well against far pricier guitars, so if you've got an LP-shaped hole in your heart this is certainly a worthy suitor.
